Kids’ rooms need love too, right? As my client’s son is entering his teenage years and starting junior high, she wanted to refresh his space into something more teenager-friendly and mature. Call it a coming-of-age project! He had gathered so many inspiration photos and had wonderful ideas of a more modern & contemporary space filled with his favorite color - blue. After multiple great options, we quickly settled on Sherwin Williams Sea Serpent for that deep, rich & moody color we hoped for. We painted all the walls, leaving the ceiling and trim the original white. As for the case goods, we made sure to source modern & sleek Scandinavian inspired pieces. Specifically all in light wood tones to bring out that modern feel. We upgraded his twin bed to an upholstered tufted queen bed with a customized performance fabric in a deep black color - perfect for pets! Alongside a large fun swivel chair that every teenager needs in their space too. We grounded the space in a classic striped neutral rug, offering contrast to the moody space.
